Hello! I have a flight arriving in Bangkok at 8:05 am and am wondering about the best way to get to Ban Phe pier. These seem to be the options.

  1. take a taxi from DMK to the Eastern Bus terminal, which seems to have a bus every hour. Try to catch a 9 am bus. If we miss it, try to catch a bus to Rayong and go from there to Ban Phe.
  2. take a free bus from DMK to Suvarnabhumi and try to catch a minibus from there.
  3. take a taxi to Victory monument and find a minibus from there. (Will it be difficult to find the bus? Is there signage?)

I know that traffic will be bad in Bangkok at 8 am, so I wonder which way is quickest and easiest.
Thanks so much!

Definitely taxi to Eastern Bus Terminal (Ekamai???) then get a big bus from there. Buses leave every hour, so you don't have to stress if you miss one. Big bus is much more comfortable than minibus and you won't have to worry about cruising around the hotels picking up passengers. I have done this many times.

Have fun,

Gavin

Thanks, Gavin! My flight was a couple days ago and I ended up taking a taxi to Victory Monument and taking the mini bus. The timing worked out well (it left less than 10 minutes after we arrived and we got to Ban Phe in 3 hours). However, it was cramped and the driving a little hairy. I can see that taking a big bus might be better.
