LOL too
Agree with Batfish, i haved ordered off the board or menu and it states one price but charged a higher price too.
i than state to the staff looks like i cant give a good tip now, they always fix the bill for me straight away.

When in Canada we noticed our bill had an extra 15% added on before the 15% tip, when we queried this we were shown the small print (very small)on menu saying groups of more than five were charged at 15% extra. Couldnt quite understand this as in the Uk larger groups often get discounts. At least you can argue extras on the bill in Thailand, no arguing with the small print, but left feeling scammed just the same.
Tip: Check the bill BEFORE you pay. Thais do.
After parting with your money it becomes nearly impossible to get it back in just about any scenario.

Thais make alot of mistakes and some are trying to rip you off ALWAYS CHECK YOUR BILL ........

Check your bill wherever you are. I've experienced it to both sides' advantage. Not something that just applies to T'land or K. Samui specifically.
Usually I'll check the bill, count the amount of items (easy), the total amount at the end (also easy, you don't really need a calculator...).
OP, how about the names of the places you say you were ripped off at?
