Meeting Thai girls on the Internet

Gotta agree with the most recent posts on this one. Thai women are very easy to meet, on the internet or elsewhere.

A lot of the "nice/good Thai girl" stuff is nonsense. For one, I find it incredibly easy to meet Thai college girls (like many girls who move away from home, they tend to be less conservative when they are away from home).

A close Thai friend once said to me...." Steve, if you want a meet a nice Thai lady, go to the temple in the morning not the bar at night".
Pretty sound advice i'd say.

Yeah, but there is such a thing as 'too' good. An issue used to be (less so now) that the bad ones are too bad, the good ones too good.. Fortunately this improved.

There was an article in the Bangkok Metro a couple of years back in which the athor wrote of his experiences with online dating in Thailand.

His findings where not encouraging (or maybe they were..says he trying not to be so judgmental).

A significant proportion of the women he met over the internet turned out out to be women of the second order.

Caveat Emptor.

Yup.. Not unlike IRL.

Are you looking to meet friends or girls?
Are you looking for a relationship, to get married, or to just have sex?
Are you young and fairly fit, or aging and expanding?
Are you willing to pay, or not?

If you're willing to pay, stop wasting time on the internet. It's full of vultures. (I have zero experience with this, but I think I'm making a safe assumption.) Besides, women are everywhere here; once you get here, you'll understand what I'm saying. Why shop ebay, when you can shop Soi Cowboy and the infinite others?

If your not willing to pay, this complicates matters considerably--go figure. It's very difficult to find genuine casual sex here. Just as you have your alterior motives for talking to her, she has her's for speaking with you. These matters are very complicated my friend. As I see it, there are six types of gals in Thailand.

1. Hookers (cheap and expensive)
2. Young naive girls (who only the lowest of the low take advatage of)
3. Young progressive gals (you're paying for it one way or the other)
4. Middle-aged hopefuls (desparate to convince themselves that if they hang aroung with you long enough, you'll marry them)
5. Older gals (they've either been with a farang previously, or used to be a bar girl and genuinely like farang...or perhaps just their money)
6. Diamonds in the rough (only the wickedly lucky meet these girls unless they've lived here for a while and know how to speak to these lovely ladies)

While I'm not disputing your experience, if that's so, how come I've never seen ( not hooker ) Thai women going out with younger farang men ( and yes, I've spent lots of time in Thailand over many years )?

From my own personal experience meeting non sex industry women in Thailand was never a problem.

The problem was getting rid of them.

All too often what would be regarded as a friendly trial date in the west, the kind of easy relaxed date where you get to see if you might actually like this person or not, would turn into a near stalking experience.

I and many of my collegues have had the experience of some girl I was half polite to, latching on like we'd been married half a life time.

I had a friend who peaked at over 20 calls a day from a girl he had spent less than an two hours talking to at a party.

Huh ? Don't you think it's a bit presumptuous for you to set himself up as this authority on online dating when by your own admission you admit that that you have zero experience of it ?

as it happens, as you'd know if you DID actually have any experience of it, it's easy to screen out those that are obviously on the make. There's plenty are university educated, metropolitan women with professional jobs that are simply interested in expanding their horizons and meeting people they would otherwise not have the chance meet, very few having jobs that bring them into contact with foreigners. There's simply a whole knew class of Thai Cosmogirl that didn't exist 15 - 20 years ago and who think nothing of using the internet to expand their social lives.
