sukhumvit soi 7 has always been pretty good and cheap, althou they have raised the price of a soda water to Bt30 (was Bt10 last year). good selection and it is a food court, albeit an outdoor one.
Best Som Tam (Green Papaya salad) in Thailand is at MBK, IMHO. The stall is located on the far right hand side as you face the long row of vendors. You really must try it. I think MBK is a good food court with good value and one I have consistently visited over the past dozen years. There's also a newer food court one floor below; fancier, but much pricier. Not sure if the food is better, but there is more international variety.

# 20, and the scenery is pretty good too!
( Whenever I go there, I feel like a kid in a sweet shop. )

On the floor up from the main MBK food court, towards the back of the mall on the right next to the clothing stalls is a small food court that the workers eat at. Mostly Isaan food, as you might guess, most menus in Thai script only and the food is down home and cheap, no tickets-just cash. Knowing what they are selling by sight comes in handy, being able to order in Thai even better.

best food court is foodloft - but only for selected cuisines e.g. the vietnamese pho is nice (though beef precooked), the Malaysian / Indonesian stuff is nice, and i think they've got the best chocolate brownies in Bangkok.
The Indian gets pricey as you have to pay for the pilau rice separately and it's something like 60 baht extra.
Otherwise I quite like emporium food court - the cheaper one.
"PS. Does anyone know other places that do satay with peanut sauce."
Sure, the Old Dutch, corner Soi Cowboy and Sukhumvit Soi 23.

couldn't believe how expensive the new Emporium food court was when I went there a couple of weeks ago. Also a very narrow selection of dishes. It used to be good.

!!!! Brilliant.
Frankly I think all Thai food should come with peanut sauce. Especially meat balls. Like, WHAT is that gooey crap they serve it with??
I didn't read all posts on food courts, but in case this hasn't been mentioned yet: There is no 'best', they're not places to go to get the best of anything, they exist for convenience: Having a lot of street-food type dishes conveniently together in a big airconditioned area that seats loads of people and has beer girls. No Thai would 'seek out' 'the best' food center, they'd pick one that had one or more 'ok' outlets, and was easy to reach relative to where they are at the time.
Some of course are better than others, in terms of selection/variety and general environment.

Shut it! Just because you are married to the place office boy!
It's the first disappointing thing I've eaten in there to be honest. I must admit I do prefer the Emporium equivalent though.
