I know they have a "left luggage" service at the airport - can anyone tell me how long they will hold bags for...days, weeks or months??
I have emailed them, but no reply!!
Thanks if you can help me out.
Cheers.

Always happy to throw a bit of work your way Westwood :)
Been up since 3.30am watching the All Blacks lose, so only have a half a brain on this fine Sunday morning.
You out of Power up your way??

Usual Sunday morning. Only sound is clock ticking . All good to go with power. Any blackouts must have missed my bit of Auckland.
Just be glad its not KL airport you're asking about. I've just compared prices. Pretty costly there once you get past a small bag.
How much time do you need?
Around a dozen years ago I had a job where I was flying to Bangkok every couple months for a long time. One cheap hotel I used kept a bag for me off and on for 2 or 3 years. For FREE! I would fly in, go to the hotel, retrieve the bag and spend the night. Next day I went elsewhere in Thailand. Before I flew out of Thailand I spent another night with the first hotel and left the bag with them again.
Some hotels will hold a bag for you figuring that you will return for another night. How long do you want to store a bag? Might work out cheaper using a hotel even if you pay for another night.
Up to you.
I need around 5 months of storage.
I'm heading to India for 5 months, but might stop off in Thailand for a bit on the way.
After India I head up to Nepal for 3 months of trekking. I don't want to lug all my high altitude trekking gear with me, hence the search for a Storage option.
Will travel super minimal and lightweight through LOS and India.
I don't mind staying at a particular Hotel for a few nights, if they'll mind my bag for that length of time. I also don't mind paying for the storage either as some of the gear is worth a bit. Has to be trustworthy and safe though.
Thanks for your suggestions

you should never consider using an airport left-luggage for longer than a day or two, as they are always more expensive than other options. So investigate the other options. As Crazy Al says cheaper guesthouses can be easily persuaded to keep bags for you for either very little money, or no money at all. However 5 months is such a long time you will surely have to pay something. I have often left bags at guesthouses for weeks with no charge forthcoming, however months is another matter.
