Koh Samui - Island of plebs

Taking a woman to Thailand is twice the cost but half the fun, isn't it? :-)

I went into the Euro girl zone in Pattaya (it's called something like Polo 'area'). The main bar was plush but there was no-one there to greet and seat you and the dancer was up the far end of the bar where only a handful of punters could see. I didn't think much of it. Airport Bar near the top of walking street had a fantastic show by the way. It was my first trip to Pattaya last week and I was amazed to see half the bars open at 10am. Do the ex-pats there ever sleep?

Keep it up arch - I'm going back to Samui in August. Counting on the crowds being down to score a good bungalow deal.

Yeah, no domineering pasty western birds, but lots of docile pathetic skinny blokes, big fat greasy red faced alcoholic ones who have been told so many times "thai peepen care abouw good hart, orn man no plomplem, you stin hansum man" etc and they walk around all cocky and full of themselves

But jeez, it is good not to have to see those fat rancid western birds...

Still a few fine lookin' Russian babes about, but not as many as the last few times I've been. The economic crisis has hit Russia too, so a decrease only to be expected.

Arch, I don't think so. In the good ol' days it was 24/7. Many a "night" I've gone back to the hotel long after sunrise.

Sound like Koh Samui is No place to go to.
All the years I been travelling I have never been there yet.
Guess I left it a bit late this time.
Checked out a couple of Koh Samui internet sites, both are full on incorrect pricing and full of comments from Travellers re rip offs and theft.
Is there any beach locations left in Thailand that are not spoilt???
Like almost still natural?
I would love to know, I got a month to fill in in the South.
Just want to laze around in a bungalow some place.Access to booze and food, not much else.
1,000 THB range.
Any recommendations?
I usually hang in the Perhentians, but its getting more expensive all the time, and the booze is too expensive there,plus the Islam thing is always a worry in that part of Malaysia.
