Hello! I'm looking for a hotel to stay in with 2 friends (we are all 24 yrs old). We want to stay on Chaweng or Lamai beach. Hopefully we can find a hotel that is under $70 per night. Any suggestions? We would prefer to stay in a bungalow on the beach. We require air conditioning and clean rooms! Since there are 3 of us, we are hopnig that the price of the extra bed will be included in the $70. any suggestions? We also like to be near the nightlife.

THANKS!!!

There are many hotels in Chaweng n Lamai. Let's say $70 is around 2,100+ THB. Your budget may not so be easy to find with the 3rd person for an air-con bungalow on the beach in Chaweng. Usually an extra cot is at least 600 THB. in a low key hotel in most air-con rooms in Samui. Well, now is still in the low season, and there are many new hotels competing. May just take a little serch. Nightlife is definitely in both towns. When are you guys coming?

http://www.samuiresotel.com/samui/room.html

This place has bungalows on the beach, open the door to walk two steps into the sand. It's been about 5 years, so it's either a dump, or renovated.

Samui Resotel is being renovated. They are building a five stars resort, rooms from 6000 baht up. You can try Chaweng Cove ( same owner as Samui Resotel ), also on the south end of Chaweng, nicest part of the beach. But rooms are about 2600 baht for a night ( for a garden bungalow, the ones right on the beach are more expensive ), but newly renovated and worth the money.

Nice bungalows on the beach in Lamai between 1000-2000 baht (incl. aircon, tv, fridge)

lamai wanta (1600)
marina (1200)
sea breeze (1500)
magic (1000)

hotels:
bonney (700)
golden sand (2000)

have a lok at
www.sawadee.com
you don't have to book through them
walk in price is lower most of the time
(for the cheaper places, that is)

Don't book in advance, it is very easy to switch.

Thai house beach resort (prices start at 2850 baht a day)
see: www.sawadee.com......samui/lamai/accommodation

The second Thai house resort is behind New Coconut Resort
Around 1600 baht, but not directly on the beach.

Better stay in Coconut resort 1000-1200 baht
Nice bungalow on the beach
