I am currently staying in Krabi Town and am heading off to Koh Pu Island tomorrow morning (Thurs). I was going to go to Phi Phi tomorrow but have heard its still a bit mad and people are having trouble finding places to stay. Is anyone staying there at the moment or heading there soon that knows the situation? Although I dont mind it being too busy, as I know Phi Phi is going to be, I would not want to end up there either with no place to stay or having to pay above my budget allows. Decided to go to Koh Pu island first which I am looking forward to. I hear it's a nice relaxing place so will just chill out for a few days before tackling the madness of Phi Phi.
On another note Krabi town is great, and a much better stop over for the islands, such as Phi Phi, than I can imagine Phuket is. Au nang though, which i visited yesterday, was a bit of a dissapointment though and felt like i was back in a spanish beach resort. Apart from obviously the views were alot better and railay bay was very nice and cool.
Any views, news and suggestions welcomed.

Hi there, we (my wife and I) are currently in Karon (Phuket) and are struggling to get somewhere on Phi Phi also. We were in Patong for a few days whilst looking for rooms on Phi Phi within our budget but everywhere was booked. Even heard stories of people sleeping on the pier or hospital grounds as it is so mad out there. Not sure how true that is. We have just found availability for the 10th Jan but they want 1600 Baht for a double room with aircon. Mmmmhhhh a little more than we expected but maybe we may have to give in as we don't want to miss out on Phi Phi.
We are then heading for Krabi after Phi Phi so thanks for your info. What is Koh Pu like and how is availability there?
I will keep searching and let you know if I find other accommodation. Good luck.

Hi there,
We booked our accom at Phi Phi October for 1400 baht; dbl aircon ensuite room. I struggled a bit on line as I had to wait for replies which came back much dearer than original quotes.
Later on found this link www.phiphi-bookings.com which looks good and gives the prices of all the accom on the island in price, name or location order. This is the company the tour ops outside use and this is the one we booked through. Looks like there are lots more accom than I thought or was led to believe. Hope this helps. Good luck on your travels.
