Hi,

I've just booked onto the Lomprayah catarmaran which leaves KPG at 7.15 and arrives at Nathon Pier at 7.45.

I have a flight from Samui to Bangkok at 09.45. I understand that it takes between 35 mins and 1 hour to make the journey from Nathon Pier to Samui airport.

Has anyone done this journey before? have i got enough time? would i need to get a private taxi to be sure?

I really want to avoid going to samui a night earlier if possible

Thanks
Dan

I think you should be fine if you take a private taxi or one of the mini-buses that drives directly to the airport without any other stops.

The songthaews may be pushing it and you don't have a lot of space for luggage on those.

Thanks, any idea how much i should expect to pay for a private taxi?

I think the earliest ferry from Haad Rin pier is either 9am or 9.30 which would be too late for my flight

I have no idea regarding private taxis but I think you are looking at 500Bht, with the songthaew it costs 100Bht.

Why did you not take a ferry from Haad Rin pier to Big Buddha pier, from there it is no more than 15 minutes and costs 150 Baht with the mini taxi.

Okay, then you will have to take the taxi to be on the safe side.

Yep....a tad tight...I've covered that road past Big Buddha Pier loads of times on my motorbike ...no sweat, motorbike taxi a thought, if your traveling with just a backpack ...check in time? About 11/12miles. Good luck. Yep the Haad Rin Queen kicks off first trip 9.30am....too late! Take care.

check in closes 40 mins before flight so would close at 09.05. From getting off the ferry at 7.45 to getting a taxi and being in the line for check in, i really want to be there no later than 08.45

seems do able? especially as peeps say a taxi ride could be 30 minutes at that time

Taxis are fixed price but have never taken much notice of the prices on the board. There should be plenty of taxis waiting.
