Hello,

I'd like to rest at some beautiful island in march at the end of my two months trip to Thailand-Laos-Vietnam-Cambodia-Thailand, but it's truly difficult to chose one particular island.

I'm thinking of four at the moment: Koh Chang, Phu Quoc, Koh Phangan or Koh Lanta.
What I'm looking for is beautiful nature, quiet but not dead island with a good internet connection (3g or wifi), since I will need to work there for a couple hours a day.

The Koh Phangan island would be not in the list, since what I'm looking for is the opposite of Full Moon Party noise, but as I have found it's the best island to mountain bike at and mountain biking is my favourite hobie. The question, is it possible to find a quiet and cozy place there to stay ? Or it's all noisy ?

Phu Quoc would be most easy to reach for me with a flight from HSMC. But is this island's nature as beautiful as the Thailand island's ? The photos and videos I've looked at seems less attractive.

Maybe Koh Chang would be my best choice ?
Koh Lanta is the most difficult to reach, but as I've read it has best internet connection and it seems to be quite well rated online.

Thanks for anyone for reading this long post and hoplefully giving me any advince :)

Heaps of quiet places to stay on Phangan. Do some research on Bottle Beach, Coral Beach, Chalok Lum all in the north, Than Sadet in the central east and my favourite location in all Thailand, the interconnected trio of Had Thian/Had Yuan/Had Wai Nam in the south east. All would be good for a keen mountain biker - Coral Beach and Chalok Lum would offer the best access to sealed roads and the west and south coasts. The others involve mostly unsealed roads, many with killer slopes. You can eventually reach the south coast and then go west but you will have to work for it.
PHANGAN
CHANG

I like big Chang but I'm not convinced it offers the best beaches, serene atmosphere and top scenery in the region. I'm much keener on Ko Kut to Chang's south west - quiet, lotsa really nice beaches, plenty of resorts and good roads to ride although most are sealed.
KUT

Lanta is a gem, has a lot of good mostly sealed roads to ride and no shortage of beaches.

Thanks for the info.

Any idea if it's possible to find a decent wifi in the northen part of the island of Koh Phangan?

I haven't stayed on the north coast for several years, but my experience of Thailand as a whole is that free wifi is very widespread - even budget bungalows and restaurants seem to offer it.

My suggestion is you go to Agoda+ or +Thorn Tree's+ own booking site and see what is on offer at some of the beaches mentioned. +Agoda etc these days seem to be adding inexpensive traveller type places and of course have many better properties - the booking sites tends to list facilities such as wifi.

I do remember staying at budget/flashpacker Longtail Resort at the rather nice Thong Ngai Pan Yai beach in the islands far north-east a while back. It had free wifi. The beach is busier than those mentioned earlier but still pretty relaxed and very pretty.
