Hi,
Having been to Phuket, Phi Phi, Krabi and Koh Samui. I'd like to know what other beaches do you think would be worth visiting next time I visit LOS. I've read a lot about Ko Chang and Ko Samet in this forum. What we like is to be able to chill out during the day and have some animation at night like good restaurants and shops to look at. Any advice appreciated.

koh chang "white sand beach" is the first stop from the ferry and has all you need. I stayed at the KCR (koh chang resort) there a couple years ago and loved it Rent a motorbike and explore the numerous small unique resorts. All kinds of nightlife there and some shops there. The best shopping might be outside near the big resorts elsewhere in truth.

I thought the nightlife on Koh Samet was consistently more varied and interesting than on Koh Chang, but I was on Koh Chang on the early edge of the rainy season. Even after moving from a more secluded resort on the lagoon to the center of the biggest resort area, it seemed pretty dead. Neither seemed to have too much in the way of shopping, but there were more interesting selections on Chang.
