Hey you good things
Well, after 27 tries at booking a room on the internet I have finally secured accommodation for 25 straight in my fav' hotel in Samui!! Yeah!
OK, 25 days to detox, swim, bake, read a couple of books, thank God for Thailand and it's beauty.
However, what else can I do that's will not break the budget (the accommodation has night on done that already!).

Are there any day tours I simply MUST do?
Cannot stand the elephant thing, did the butterfly thing, saw the beautiful waterfalls.

Wouldn't mind a boat thing.

Also, you know Tesco?
Well from The International Hospital Chaweng beach to Tesco, how much do I pay in one of those around the island, small, sit in the back 'things'.
Can I get on one of those 'above mentioned' ute type vehicles and just go around the island, stopping off along the way only to hop on the next one?
Can you buy a round the island ticket?

Again thank you for your wonderful help in advance.

Hi Mazzap,

Is that the Samui International Hospital that you're referring to, at the northern end of Chaweng? If so, a 'song thaew' or two row cab, named after the two rows of seats in the back of the pick up, will probably be around 50 Baht, if you find one that goes straight to Tesco's. Every time you get off one of these song thaews, you need to pay the price for the distance travelled and do the same if you hop on a new one. For these taxi's there's no 'around the island' ticket unless you hire one for the day.

With 25 days on Samui, you will surely discover many of the islands hidden treasures. I have never spent more than 3 days there personally. I always find that driving around the island is best; however, it is not a good idea to do this when drinking. The island is super crowded, so you might feel more comfortable with the songthaew option.

Thank you most kindly to you both.
I never knew what they were called y'know blush

I hired a 'car' last time I was there and nded up on some kind of a loop.
It was rather funny actually, I just kept passing the same place over and over....and no, I hadn't been drinking.
The land mark was the climbing rock on the cliff.
How the hell I kept ending up there....well.
I thought I'd established a fair road map in my head but obviously not all the synapses were firing.
In the end I gave up and went back and forth to the Big B every day just to use the car!!

Pathetic eh.

Hi Mazzap,

No worries, I had to find out what they were called and than it took a while to figure out what it meant. My father in law used to drive one around the island............

Pretty obvious, but book a snorkeling excursion that takes to the offshore islands, etc. They're usually cheap and convenient.

Best snorkelling is at Koh Nang Yuan, daily trips are arranged by Seatran Discovery or Lomprayah.
