Can anyone suggest:
1-What area/street has good middle eastern places to eat.
2-Mid-price range hotel nearby...let's say 1,000 bhat/nite.

Thanks in Advance

Soi 3 Sukhumvit has plenty of dining choices.
I liked Shiherazad (sp?).

OP, ref. 2) Grace Hotel, between 26-36 USD, well about 1.000 baht per night, location Sukhumvit Soi 3. The hotel itself not bad as all - if you like those Arab atmosphere...
Many good middle eastern eatery places nearby.

The grace is a dump, but I did like Zenith Sukhumvit though, very nice hotel, but above your budget.

Nana Plaza Hotel-reasonable hotel(ignore the girls, unless that's what you also fancy!);excellent breakfast and we found quite a few restaurants which sound like what you're looking for, in the nearby streets.
Hope this helps,
Jules

Here's another one for the Emperor ;)
OP, you could try the Miami Hotel on Soi 13, it's even got a pool!

Grace Hotel - for sure. My future sister in law happens to work there! The rooms are ok, but the location is perfect for what you are looking for.

The Fortuna Hotel, on Sukhumvit Soi 5, is very nice, and across Sukhumvit, at least, from Nana Plaza and all the sleaze. Has a pool, doesn't cater to sex tourists (no bar, only traditional massage, not 'guest friendly,' as far as I know), and very close to the center of "Little Arabia." Just down the soi, in fact, are a couple of good middle eastern places.

Friends of mine booked the Fortuns Hotel, too and were happy with it. And there is a small subsoi - a gallery just some meters from the Fortuna to shorten your way to Soi 3 and all those eateries.
