I have two questions:

1) I will be travelling around Thailand the last two weeks of January with my boyfriend and he leaves the night before I do. My flight is at 8:30am from Suvarnabhumi. I see the new train link is due to start so I thought it might be smart to stay the last night near City Air Terminal so I can hop on an early train. Can anyone suggest a cheap (under 800B for a single private room ideally) room as close to City Air Terminal as possible? I suppose I should also ask, have timetables been published??

2) I understand that to get to Koh Samui to Koh Phi Phi one must take a ferry to Surat Thani, to a bus to Krabi, to a ferry. I know the time tables for Krabi-Phi Phi ferry and have seen various listings for the other two legs, but does anyone sell those 3 transport types as one package, or what exactly is the best method of planning that day and booking tickets?

Thanks very much.

Regarding question #2 you can buy such a package ticket at any travel agent in Koh Samui. Probably through your hotel/guesthouse also. Wouldn't be a bad idea to purchase a day or two in advance.

The Airport rail Link is only doing limited test runs for a week or so, so Q1 is irrelevant I'm afraid.

It might start regular service around April ...maybe

Gcanuck- good to know, thanks.

Mike- ah, ok. The info I had seen said January but I guess it's delayed.

In that case, if I need to be at the airport by 6:30am should I stay by the airport (if so, where?) or in the city? I'd prefer the city but worry that there might be traffic.

Thank you!

You should n't need to worry about traffic at that time of the morning
