Hi we would really appreciate some advice. We are currently in Penang and need to be on Koh Phi Phi on the 28th Feb we are booked in Penang until the 27th We were then planning to catch a bus on the 27th to Krabi stay over night then get a ferry to Koh Phi Phi. We have now seen that there is a ferry from Ao Nang and are thinking we would be better going from there do you think that would be a better route? If it matters where about we are staying we will be in Dee Dees beach bungalows which is in Koh Phi Phi Don. I think looking at bus routes we would need to get one bus to Hat Yai then change. Is this the only/best route as I've read on the British embassy website that travel through Hat Yai is not advised unless essential?

After Koh Phi Phi we depart on the 4th March and do not fly out of Bangkok back to the UK until the 12th March. We are planning on spending 2/3 nights in Bangkok before we fly so that leaves us with around 4/5 days free in between the Koh Phi and Bangkok. We have been travelling for a while through Malaysia so we are ready to relax on a beautiful beach and chill out more does anybody have any good suggestions of where to try. We had though of Phuket but read it is very touristy as is Koh Phi Phi so we wanted somewhere not quite so busy. Another place we liked the sound of is Koh Lanta but we are open to suggestions?

Many thanks all help appreciated.

PS if anyone is visiting Kuala Lumpur we can highly recommend the Eat, Love Pray tour (nothing to do with the film of the same name) and the cookery class in Lazat.

Do you know that you can go all the way from Penang to Phi Phi by ferry ?
If you catch the first ferry at 7am to Langkawi you can make the ferry(s) to Phi Phi arriving at 17.00.

Hi Bob yes it is looking around 8 hrs with a break but we were thinking bus would 1 be cheaper but also by the time you get to the airport early wait before the flight then collect luggage go through immigration and get a bus to Phi Phi thought there might not be a lot in it but its definitely worth us looking at.

Hi friendlycheckingirl no I hadn't realised that was an option thanks very much will look into it.
