Guesthouse near Ranong border crossing

I hope that you realise that there isn't a border crossing as such. You leave Thai Immigration and cross the Kra estuary, land, then return.

I know that, but I didn't want to use the word "Ranong immigration", because there is actually a separate immigration building that issues visa extensions.

Clearly, what I mean is the check point near the river where the boats depart for Kawthoung.

Can't help with the guest house, I always stayed up in the centre of town.

Stay in the town and take a red songthaew to the landing. Rattanakosin is a clean and cheap hotel with a breakfast place across the street.
