Hello everyone.
We are planning a trip in Thailand for around 9 days. This will be our first time travelling in Thailand, and the first in Asia for a few. We are a group in our late 20s (26-29). We are interested in seeing some cultural and nature sites, temples, night markets, street food, seeing local life, floating markets, etc.
We will be arriving in the early evening on May 17th in Bangkok and leaving on May 26th from Koh Samui.
Our tentative itinerary is the following:
May 17th evening - check in-to hotel. Catch a meal at the night market (or Khao San Road). We would like to see how bustling a touristy area can get but will not stay in this area.
May 18th - Chatuchak Market in the AM (is there anywhere else we can go near the area in the evening? or would heading to the malls be a better idea since we may be tired and adjusting to the weather.
May 19t h-Temples tours along the canal. Not sure where would be a good area to relax in the evening or grab a few drinks. Is Chinatown worth a go?
May 20th - Head to Ayutthaya for the ruins-drop off the luggage at the train station. Will try an elephant tour of the ruins and head to the floating market./Japanese Garden, etc. Then we would like to head off to kanchanaburi for the evening.
May 21st-a tour around kanchanaburi-death railway, falls etc and then catch an overnight transportation to surat thani-koh phangan
May 22- Koh Phangan
May 23-26 Koh Samui (one of the days, to do a day trip to Angthong Marine Park.
Would this sound too packed?
How can we transport ourselves from Ayutthaya to Kanchanaburi and from Kanchanaburi to Surat Thani?
Do you think we should make any changes to the itinerary?
Thanks!
