Hi,

I'll be arriving at the Surat Thani airport with my GF at 8 in the morning on new years eve, and wanted to know if it would be difficult to get to Koh Tao the same day. I've found several sites for booking various legs of the trip, but not for the whole thing. So i believe you have to first take a bus from the airport to Donsak (the port), then a boat to Koh Samui, then a boat to Koh Tao. Anyone know of any agents that would help me book this? Or should I just not worry because it shouldn't be a problem to get a ride even on NYE?

You have enough time to arrange your onwards journey to Koh Tao on the same day.There re planty of agents/booking offices around, from whom you could get the boat ticket.I don't you have to go to Kho Samsui in order to go to Kho Tao.

There's a boat from Samui at 13.30 to Tao. Once you arrive at the airport, just book the first ferry to Samui that you can make it to, and then take it from there. You might also be able to buy a ticket all the way with a stop on Samui while you wait for the 13.30 boat.

Yep, there are tour counters at the airport which can sell you a ticket right thru - this means a minivan direct to the day piers for the islands some way out of Surathani - you don't have to worry about going into town and mucking around.
