Canadian flying from Seattle to Bangkok. I have no return ticket and I only plan on staying for about 30 days and then move onto somewhere else. You get a free 30 day travel visa when you arrive and don't need it prior to arrival. Will I still encounter problems throughout my flights to Bangkok without a return ticket and no visa (even though I only need a 30 day visa)?

No, you will not get a visa at all when you arrive. You will get a 30 day VISA EXEMPTION. Well, this is something you should probably ask your airlines. They might want to see proof of onward travel in order to let you get on the plane since they are liable if you get denied entry in Thailand.

thats it, nr 1 is a tad too optimisic, US-based airlines and boarding at US airpts WILL give probs, maybe even non-boarding. again, its NOT a matter for Thai immigration, but at the very start. and before you wonder; YOUR country is even more strict about that.

Well I just flew out of JFK into Bangkok with a one way ticket and got away with it. I knew in advance it was a risk but its completely up to you. No one is going to have statistics for you about your chances of getting away with it though.
