Hi, I will be in Thailand in March 07, fly
into Bankok,
3 Weeks travelling around Thailand
then back to Bankok to fly to Vietnam- 2 weeks in Vietnam, then fly to Kuala Lumpa and travel on through Malaysia to Indonesia.

My question is, is it cheaper and easy enough to buy my flight once there,
or should I book before I leave the UK?

STA said it would be about the same price to just do it in the UK - about £220 - is this right, or a con?

Your help and any other advice travelling through SE Asia is appreciated.

I will be spending about 8 weeks in total

3 weeks Thailand
2 Weeks Vietnam
3 weeks from Malaysia to Indonesia (flying out of Bali to Sydney)

Many Thanks for any help.

Your detailed routing isn't indicated, but definitely look at L=air asia]http://www.airasia.com/site/en/home.jsp[/L] they do Bkk-Hanoi and Hanoi-KL, but it would be better if you say flew into Hanio and out of Ho Chi Minh. In 2 weeks you will have a lot of ground to cover, and would rule out Cambodia (which gives some other Air Asia options).[

Why on earth are you skipping Cambodia? IMHO - one of the best places in Asia.
