Fishing tackle in Pattaya / Thailand

There is a takle shop in Pattaya but I can't remember the name or where it was exacty. I have some Thai fishing magazines at home but unfortunately with the wife in Thailand now I wouln't be able to read the ads. I could only suggest asking around, Toursit Office etc. The trouble is you would need to ask a Thai who would really know about it and unfortunately most of them wouldn't know.
The only shop that I know of in Bangkok is near the Thaksin monument, as far as I can remember it is in a soi next to Robinson. There is a small train station opposite.

Mike shopping mall on beach & 2nd Road has a fishing dept in the sports section. I think it's about the 2nd top floor. Ride the esculator up & you can't miss it.
Don't know prices or quality though.

It is near the junction of 2nd road and and where beach road. Where all the baht buses wait for punters going to Jomtien.
He is my contact for RC cars but I have bought tackle there before. It is a family business so he'll probably deal with the tackle too.

There are better options for real "heavy duty" gear in BKK but this will do in a pinch, unless you are after something specialist. If you are PM me and i'll dig out the bangkok business cards.

Prices are as with everything else in Thailand, western imports=expensive. Good thing about Thailand is a lot of cheap Korean and Chinese fishing gear though. Some of the Korean stuff is pretty well made.
