Hi I am getting confused with the ferry situation from Koh Samui to Don Sak/Surat Thani.

I need to get to train station for midnight(just after) train to Butterworth (i already have train ticket).

Need to get late afternoon ferry and bus to ST train station.

Been advised to just go to Nathon and get on next ferry, they run hourly.no need to book.

Is this the Raja ferry which seems to run from Nathon and Lipanoi, or Seatran??

Are there buses to train station to meet every ferry or just some ferries? How can I find out which ferries connect with a bus?

Do I go to Nathon or Lipanoi?

Thank you for any help x

hey sorry i thought you were going the other way.

make sure you get the port/pier correct on samui.

you can go any time of day and stay teh night somewhere near the train station.

i think you will have to get to nkst day before as that train rolls thru nkst too early for a connection.

Surat Thani (for Ko Samui & Koh Tao) depart 00:50 08:20

its a big city and full of sharks so go slow and keep your wits.

If you go to Na Thon, there are buses that go to Surat/ train via the Raja Ferry. They leave from near the pier. You buy a ticket at a shop near them. It has a sign in front.
Buy a ticket to the train Station. They go to the Raja pier, you get off and buy a ticket, about 40 baht I think ( it's been a while ) walk onto the ferry. Your bags stay on the bus. At Don Sak get back on the bus. You may need to change buses in Surat for the Station.
I don't know when the bus leaves Na Thon, but should be easy enough to find out there,
