Cambodia refused to give exit- stamp in my new passport.
Could not re-enter Cambodia because I hadn't really left the country (ie no Thailand stamp).
Hence returning to PP for an official 'exit visa' ($30), and then back to the border.
Complicated. But the only way.
When you made the first exit attempt did you not ask for an exit stamp, I do not really understand why they would not give you one.
Understand why the Thais would not let you in without the stamp but clearly the Cambodians allowed you back in presumably on you exiting visa.
I also do not understand how you get an exit visa in PP that allows you to remain in the country. There is something missing in this perhaps the rules surrounding the use of emergency pasports and those newly issued in Cambodia
