hey there fellow travellers. was just wandering if anyone knows of cheap places to stay in koh san road, bangkok? or just off koh san? me and a friend stayed in the sawasdee for a night when last there but dont really want to pay more than 300-400 for a double room. heard there are places around 200? anything not too grimmy as meeting freinds who will be jet lagged and not wanting really mank place to stay. any advice?

Are you being serious? Not sure where you are from, but 200 is around £3.00, do you really think that it will be possible to find a double room that is "not too grimmy" for that money?
you'll be pushing it to get something decent around KSR even for 300-400

But no despair; all AROUND KSR there are scores of such places, nr 1 talsk nonsense (or is of the Sukhumvitset), but, alas, that will be very high season now and you will find them, but so sorry, now full. As most places tend to have a variety of rooms, youll start with the more exp. and if they like you/make friends with them and stay long enoguh, then at last, youll qualify for the hidden gems.
ask any JPNese, they have the better guidebooks
