hi there, i stayed in chaweng noi 9/2005. haven't been to choeng mon (much more posh and upmarket, i believe), but chaweng noi indeed does have soft sand, wide beach, no rocks, and calm, clear waters. definitely deep enough for swimming if i remember correctly.
