I am considering a 2-4 day get away to a beach, however, I need a hotel with fast wifi on a beautiful beach that is fairly accessible (don't want to waste too much of the time in transit) and I need a really nice gym (with good free weights). That being said, if all those needs are met, I could go practically anywhere... have loved Krabi in the past for the great beaches and limestone cliffs... any recommendations?

Thanks!

Maybe a good suggestion. This year I’ve been to the island of Koh Lipe in Thailand. This island is located 70km off the Andaman (west) coast of Thailand's most southwestern province, Satun Province and shines out among some of Thailand's most beautiful, and unforgettable environments.

I had a great time on Lipe and there was a lot to do like snorkeling, shopping and eating in good quality restaurants and bars. I found my resort on Koh Lipe on http://www.welovekohlipe.com, where you can also check out more information about Koh Lipe and the surrounding areas. I can really recommend Koh Lipe for a nice relaxing holiday in paradise!

Thanks, looking now. How easy is it to get to from Bangkok?

Just looked it over, looks nice, but I think I am looking for something more easily accessible from Bangkok...

Closest to Bangkok and nice (unlike Pattaya) would be Ko Samet, further up Ko Kood (Ko Changs too developed for me)

Towards south is Ko Phangan, a nice big island.
Much further down is Ko Kradan next to Trang a sleepy super city.Further down is Ko Lipe stunningly beautiful but a distance from Bangkok.
I havent seen more whiter sand and more lovely water then Ko Kradan and Ko Lipe.

I know the beach scene here a little, but mostly as a backpacker, this time around, due to time constraints, I would be looking for a resort or hotel with fast wifi and a really good gym... any specific recommendations for not just beaches, but places to stay on beaches?

i suspect that any place on the beach with a really good gym, and good wifi is likely going to be a resort - if you are up for paying those prices look for hotels with Sheraton, Marriott, Le Meridien, Banyon Tree, etc. in their names - there are several large beachfront resorts in the Laguna/Bang Tao area on Phuket for example that I'm sure would meet those criteria.
