Hi
Planning on going to Thailand next yr for 2 weeks or 2 and half weeks so I want to go to Bangkok to see the attractions, Phuket to see patpong beach, james bond island and maya bay "the beach" and on to koh samui to see big buddha, ang thong national park and the ever famous full moon party koh phangan so how many days would need to spend in these three areas? I'll be flyin to each destinations as don't mind paying extra if it takes less time to reach a place! So any tips?

2 1/2 weeks.

all u need is a lonely planet. since ur going to all the major destinations, everything u need will be in a guidebook.

If you must tread this overworn and rather downtrodden trail of islands, then 3 or 4 days on each should be sufficient. Number 1 has it right.

If you want some real advice though, ditch these islands, go to the less 'infamous' ones such as Ko Tao. Much nicer.

Bangkok, the Phuket area and Samui area are all places you could spend several weeks each. But I reckon you can get a fair idea in 3 days minimum for Bangkok and Samui area - perhaps 4 in Phuket because you want to fit in 2 daytrips - Phang Nga Bay (James Bond Island) and PP for Maya Bay.

I'm a PP fan and would spend a couple of days staying there.

Mike is right in that there are heaps of less hectic islands, but you have indicated you want to see specific things, not lie back and take it easy.

Thanks lads was thinking like 3 days in Bangkok 6 days in Koh Samui and 5 days in Phuket so that is 14days in total in Thailand. I know alot about Bangkok and Koh Samui as my mates were there a few times but don't know alot about Phuket and I'm told that Patpong beach place to be so if i stay there is it hard to get daytrips from there to Maya bay and Phang nga bay? Yes I like to see abit and just chill out in one of days on beach and have a few drinks! ha!

All Phuket hotel travel desks and small travel agencies and booths on the street sell the Maya Bay and Phang Nga trips.
Patpong is the most commercial of the Phuket beaches - busiest, most night-life including sleaze, lots of shopping/bars/restaurants. Beach aint bad if you are not put off by heaps of sunbeds and umbrellas. There are nicer beaches. Got a fair bit of info, pix and sublinks in the first link below which might help your visit.

It's Patong Beach in Phuket, not Patpong.

I want to go to Phuket to see patpong beach

Patong is the last place I would recommend you see in Phuket unless you want a crowded beach, lots of bars, McDonalds, Starbucks and Burger King. If you DO, Patong is for you. Otherwise, any other beach is nicer to stay. All hotels or tour desks have tours to Phang Nga Bay (to see James Bond Island) and Phi Phi.
