Accommodation and trekking in Chiang Mai

Hi, my husband and I have 2 days (3 nights) in Chiang Mai in 3 weeks time. I was hoping someone could give me some recommendations on a nice guest house/hotel - around 600-1000 Baht/night price range. Somewhere attractive, clean, comfortable, and a place that can arrange good 2 day treks for us. Short walking distance from the night market area is preferred.

We'd like a trekking experience that is a bit more of an adventure and not just following the well trodden tourist paths, if this is at all possible.
