I assumed you'd be taking your wife with you. ;-)

So, again, Samet

She likes Pattaya! Sort of.

Ok, ok, I'll give Samet another thought. It was my first choice as well. Where is Samet Villa?

Mine likes Pattaya too. In fact I have a harder time getting her to places like Samet or Tao than Pattaya. Pattaya is considered more civilized I suppose. :)

But anyway with 4 days I'd fly into either Phuket or Krabi and visit some islands. Pattaya you can do on any weekend you happen to find yourself in Bangkok; there's always time for Pattaya.

Where is Samet Villa?

Samet Villa - #21 on TravelFish Map of Samet

Tub Tim is #23

True, you do need to be away from the Silver Sands end of Samet Villa, alternatively move right over to Tub Tim.

U - Tapao is also an international airport and flies to Moscow in the high season. They used to serve Seoul - Incheon too but those flights have been discontinued.

Chiang Rai is billed as an international airport, but doesn't have any flights outside Thailand.

Probably fly into Phuket and then some kind of fast transfer to Phi Phi, boats and planes cunningly dovetailed at either end of the break so all the travelling is in the same day period. The compact nature of the destination would suit your compact time frame and there's lots of scope for daytripping between islands / Ao Nang / Krabi et al.
