Hy guys,

maybe the last two questions ;o)

1 ) Is it nesessary to bring injections to vietnam ? I do not know about the hygienic situations in hospitals.

2 ) My order from an outdoor-travel shop will not be arrive on time. Can I also buy repellent with deet in vietnam, maybe where ? In pharmacies or supermarket ?

Thanks again for answer

We'll be going to Laos from Thailand, entering Laos by Huay Xai. We'll probably be travelling around in North Laos. Does anyone know where we might find a good map of the area? Do you think we might find one in Bangkok, or in Chiang Mai (excuse misspellings), or maybe even at the border (I don't suppose so)?

Does anyone have any info about hiring a car with a driver for this route? Is it possible, what is the cost, how long is the journey is it a good road trip? Trying to decide whether to fly or go by car. Not got much time but would consider a road trip if the journey is enjoyable.....or maybe the time is better spent in LP? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

On the 7th. feb 3 soldiers and 1 Hmong fighter was killed in an exchange of fire at the bridge 6 k's north of Vang Vieng. The same spot as the bus shooting some four years ago. Soldiers can now be seen guarding all bridges along the road from VTE to LP.

Whether the bus shootings are back on or not are still to be seen. But it makes sense to pay attention to the situation before making any travel decisions. Remember that any local advice in Vang Vieng is not to be trusted, as they will all have…

We're going to be travelling through Vietnam, China and Tibet and I intend giving my SLR ( Nikon D200 ) a fairly strenuous workout, ideally shooting RAW. My question is: any suggestions for the best method of backing up digital photos while travelling? I'm looking at a number of options, all of which are expensive and including: bringing at least 3 8GB memory cards, purchasing an Epson P5000 or similar, uploading to Flickr or similar sites (any recommedndations).
Any experiences on uploading…

In the Todays (Sunday) New York Times Travel Section, is a lengthy article on the vibrant and chic cultural arts scene in Hanoi Vietnam. It also recommends Hotels, Cafes and things to do.

This is one area of a city i always enjoy, no mater what country, as every artist has a story and a inspiration, that make a for a great day of learning about the culture, and peeling back the multiple layers of a culture...

Here is a Link, but I think you may need to subscribe (Free) online.

Sorry for my poor English to express such a somewhat complicated question. English is not my native language.

Is it possible to make girlfriend with a Lao girl and marry her one day?!

Maybe it sounds crazy and stupid, I know it seems to be highly impossible, and Laos is a very conservative country (mentioned in LP 2003?). Is there any suggestion?

The story is like that:

In summer of 2006 I passed throughout Laos and I fell in love with everything there. Charming and quiet towns like Luang Prabang…
