It was here on my last day, where I felt the magic of this country, its people, and its food. It hit me hard. Tears welled and I understood why both visitors and transnationals are so moved by the magic of this place. When you see and experience a way of living so different from your own, you realize how much could be done differently and maybe even how narrow your own life has been. Like Harry Potter, Vietnam became my Hogwartz, and somehow, in the course of an 11 day visit, my life had…
My Wife and I will arriving after midnight after a couple of long flights, from Vancouver Is. for a 5 week tour.
Any recommendations for a hotel that would be convenient and a good base for a couple of days before we head out.
Hello:)
I'm thinking about using my visa exemption when I enter Vietnam, since I'm from Norway and I'm not going to be there for more than 15 days. However, I'm thinking about going out of Vietnam after one day and then take the bus to Cambodia, and then go back again to Vietnam after about 10 days in Cambodia. I'm getting mixed answers about whether I should apply for multiple entry visa or if I should use my visa exemption when first I enter Vietnam, and then apply for e-visa single entry…
Hi guys,
I've been doing a little research but can't seem to find concrete information on how I should spend 15-18 days in South Vietnam.
I'll be landing in HCMC and should be flying out the same place.
Places I have in mind are:
1) HCMC - 4/5 days
2) Phu Quoc - 4/5 days
3) Mekong Delta - 3/4 days
4) Mui Ne - 3/4 days
How would you guys go about this trip?
HCMC - Mui Ne - HCMC - Mekong - Phu Quoc - HCMC?
Adding on, I'd prefer to travel without going on a tour, would it be advisable for places…
Hi there expert travellers, I am going to Vietnam with my family in March which is apparently low season. Previously as a former backpacker, I would only get rooms upon arrival, now as I can afford more expensive rooms with a pool for the kids, I am unsure of whether the rooms for say $100 per night and up will be booked up or do I just feel pressure to book as some are already booked?
We will go on a cruise of Ha Long bay and so far the cruise prices for the trip my wife wants is well over…
Hoi An on rainy days, it's the colorful lanterns are dancing in the rain, it's a line of cyclos queued up run along the street, it's the colorful raincoats in the rain like the butterflies, it's the romantic scenes in the rain: someone who being dating strolling in the roads, the pensive faces of somebody in the rain....and many attractive places.

Hi everyone!
I have a few weeks in mid December to Jan 1 to be in southeast Asia. I will be flying from Cairns (flights from there are not cheap!) I have learned that December is a great month to be in Laos. What area of Laos should I see? I will be traveling from there to Kep, Cambodia in the beginning of January. I am scheduled to teach yoga at a retreat there for 8 weeks beginning Jan 3. All thoughts are welcome!
Im thinking of going to Vietnam with my 10 y old in the spring. We will fly into Hanoi and definately visit Halong bay. We also want to go to central Vietnam.
We would like to do some light hiking and see some rice terreces and waterfalls. Maybe stay in an eco resort or home stay. But what would be the best place?
It seems like most people are going to Sapa. But i have read the Ha Giang should be very beautiful as well. And how about Pong Nha and ninh binh?
We will not be able to rent…
Hi,
Just wondered if any good suggestions for a hotel in Hanoi. Meeting my son there for travelling around. We will share a twin. Not hugely expensive as I guess I will be paying for him too! But nice as I would of had a long travel from UK. Also somewhere so we can book trips etc. Old town maybe and something traditional? Open to good hostels and private rooms too.
Thanks
I'll be in Hanoi for five days starting Oct 27 and I'm trying to figure out a good use of my time. My general idea was a 2d1n ha long bay trip, 2 days just for Hanoi, and maybe a day trip out for Tam Coc. But after more reading about Tam Coc I wonder if it'll be worth the trip at this time because the rice will all have been harvested and the fields rather barren? If so, then I'd be fine with leaving Tam Coc for another visit.
It's my first visit to Vietnam and I'll be back so I'm interested in…
