new member here, hoping to find lots of good info on these forums.

I'm planning a trip to vietnam in late april-early may. My gf and I want to go for about three weeks.

I'm having some trouble finding information about flights to and from China. I live in Shanghai and would love to fly directly to Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh, but I would also be happy flying to/from Kunming. If the train is a better idea, I'm also game to try that.

What is better mode of transportation from Nha Trang to SaiGon? I 'd choose train due to the sceneries along the way and from what you guys know, is it worth it? Or should I fly as I need all the time due to the tight schedule I will be on. I am unsure how long the train ride would take but I guess it will be between 8 - 10 hours?

We had a thread some time ago dealing with this subject: lousy hotels in Hanoi, where they kick you out when you refuse to book a trip with them, and give you rooms unfit even for dogs.

There was a certain organisation which seemed to be nothing short from a bunch of crooks. Brothers something?

Reading earlier the flights are booked out 3 days in advance is this realy the case or not the norm.

My friends and I need to get from Danang to Nha Trang on April 4th, however only one flight per day which the online agent tells me is fully booked (for 3 days running).

What are my chances of waitlisting and getting 4 tickets?
If we cant fly, would you recommend train or open-tour bus?
We have booked a resort at Nha Trang (and paid) so have to get there on April 4th!

Just unpacked my bike and have lost the end off one of my skewers. It's a mountain bike and all I could find at this late hour was a nut and washer that would suffice but keen to find a more permanent replacement before heading off into the hills tomorrow. Can anyone recommend a more high end bike shop that might have a mountain bike quick release in stock? Hope so.....
