Hi TTers,
I am a single mother travelling to Vietnam with my 9-year-old-daughter who has learning difficulties. As she is more vulnerable than other children I am extra keen to ensure that our journey is as safe as possible. I've lived and worked in Thailand for several years and have travelled around much of SE Asia with my son when he was very young (now at UNI), so am not completely unaware of the usual risks but as I don't know Vietnam at all I would greatly appreciate any tips/advice anyone…
Hi,
This is my first time to visit Vietnam.
Now I'm back from Hong Kong and still have HKD in hand. In couple weeks I will visit Vietnam by flying to Hanoi Airport.
Can Hong Kong Dollar change to Vietnam Dong at the airport or in town? Any suggestion?
All answers are appreciated.
Hi, am going to China in October, then on to Tibet, then Xian by train. We then want to go to Hanoi from Xian. Can anyone tell me the best way to get from Xian to Hanoi.
We have travelled on trains in China before but I cant seem to get this info, even on 'seat61' site.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,
my fiancee and I are planning on spending our honeymoon in southeast Asia around December. We plan on staying around three weeks and - after a little research - Vietnam is our destination of choice. I basically have two questions:
1. We are thinking about doing a tour of Vietnam. Does anybody know a good company offering (guided) tours of Vietnam for small groups of people? We are thirtyish and would on the one hand like to travel with a relaxed group of people and on the other hand not…
Hi,
Have just returned from a 3 week trip to Vietnam. Wonderful as always, this was my 3rd visit over the past 15 years. This time I travelled by road to Dien Bien Phu from Sa Pa, having organized this trip out of Hanoi. Amazing scenery and Dien Bien is not too much on the tourist trail. The history of the place is gobsmaking.
I would avoid this hotel however. It is called the "Him Lam" is is quite a ways out of town, too far to walk in the evening. You are thus dependent on the…
I will arrive in Ho Chi Minh airport at 9pm. I plan to fly out to Hanoi on the 6.30am flight. Instead of staying in a hotel for a few hours, I am considering if I want to wait at the airport for my next flight.
Are there facilities such as shops/restaurants open throughout the night? Is it air conditioned at waiting area (before check in)?
Thanks again
Hi, I am searching for a good travel agent for certain tours in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City and I came across sinh cafe.
However, there are two websites www.sinhcafevn.com and www.sinhcafe.com.vn. They are two totally different tour operators.
Please advise if everyone has used their tour packages and if they are good and recommended.
Thanks

Yes, it's in the guidebooks, for good reasons! Located within walking distance to cafes, restaurants, night market, etc. yet it is still very quiet at night. One of the owners, Mr. Phuoc, is absolutely wonderful! He is so kind and attentive and answered all my annoying little questions about…
