My question - has Sapa become too popular with tourists? I understand this might be true on market day. Does this occur year round? I'm going in March, and if so, I will be forced to skip the area. Please do not respond if you are professional tour operator.

Can anyone confirm for me the address of the Vietamese Embassy in Kunming as I have a series of differing addresses off the internet.

My husband and I are travelling to Vietnam in August. We have previously travelled through the south of Vietnam but we are now going to the north and taking our three-year-old son with us. We really want to check out Halong Bay and were looking doing an over night with Handspan or someone similar but am concerned with taking an active 3 year old on the boat for 24 hours, not only because it may not be that relaxing for us, but also for other guests on board. I'm in HCMC here in 'nam, and heading to Hanoi in a few days. Has anyone got some useful information on decent places to shop? I'm looking for clothes, bags, sportswear, electronics etc, that's cheaper then back in Europe but of similar quality. I just got a "The North Face" bag here and was very surprised by the perfect quality. I was in Nepal a few months back and they also had NF gear, but it was rubbish. Is there anything i have to buy before heading home?
