Hello everybody and thanks to all the people who replied to my first topic.
As I said I would like to visit Vietnam following the most important places relating to war memories.
According to this interest I have, I have been asked to do a relation about Vietnam war tourism.
I don't know whether I can ask some information on this forum, but I'd only like to know if there's someone who can write me something about the different points of view reminding the war; I mean that I'd like to know what…
Hi
What would be a fair price to pay for a minivan and driver to take six people (4 adults, 2 kids) from Halong Bay to Ninh Binh?
Also, do cars / vans in Vietnam tend to come with (working) seat belts? (Seat belts are mandatory in my country and I would feel quite nervous about allowing my kids to travel unrestratined.)
Thanks
This is what happens when people that are used to riding bicycles start riding motorbikes and driving cars without any proper training. I've also noticed lately that quite a few motorbike riders are listening to MP3 players while driving. Since the Vietnamese tend to drive by sound and not so much by site (just pull into traffic and wait for the horn to beep, but don't look), I think this will cause an increase in accidents too!

Hi there
I am arriving in Hanoi as a single female on my own mid-July and have about 5-6 days before my girlfriends arrive. I want to use that time to head into the north of vietnam but am unsure of doing this on my own independently. Can anyone recommend a reputable tour company for a 4-6 day tour? I am not interested in temples, more the outdoors, light trekking, hill country. I really would appreciate any advice, as am overwhelmed and more confused from my research than when I started!
Many…
Hi all,
I'll be arriving in Hanoi with 5 other friends on 24th June and we will be staying for a week.
1) We are planning to take a 3 days 2 nights Halong Bay tour (kayaking!) with Handspan and instead of making an online booking with them via the website, we have decided to book directly with them or through our guesthouse in case the tour is cheaper. (When I was in Phuket, the island hopping tours were much cheaper and negotiable when we booked it directly with the agencies at Patong beach…
Hi,
Anybody stayed at the above hotel before. Appreciate some comments
I tried looking up on the net but there weren't any. Is this a new hotel?
I heard it's just beside the train station. So should be convenient right?
Rgds
hi all, how much do you think i would need for 5 weeks in vietnam/cambodia?
I am trying to work out how much more expensive an organised tour would be as opposed to doing this on my own.
Thanks in advance.
Hi All,
I thought since we found the postings on this site really helpful before we went to Vietnam, we should give some feedback.
We have just returned from 18 days in Vietnam and had a great time and yes I know 18 days is not long enough. Because of our limited time in Vietnam we did organise Sapa and Ha Long Bay prior to arriving. We booked these 2 trips through et-pumpkin (www.et-pumpkim.com). I cannot fault this company, they knew exactly who we were when we arrived, everything was well…
Hello...
Can anybody suggest a way to book a flight from Hong Kong to Vietnam online (before I leave for my trip?)? All the online search engines I can think of are north american based - and do not have good rates for this flight (which should be a short and hopefully inexpensive route!).
Any suggestions?
Hi to all that gave me great advise in previous posts! I had planned on already being in the area by now, but my trip was delayed due to a medical condition...I hopefully have that all fixed up and will soon be on my way! Here's the catch: I applied for my visa into Vietnam before booking my plane flight, because I've applied for a visa to another country before and know it can take some time. My visa is good from May 30-June 30. As I'm not even on the continent yet, I think I will need an…
