Currently in Hoi Ann my Visa (30 tourist) will expire in a week will be heading through Da Nang, and Hue in the next 7 days. Where is the best and cheapest place to get an extension? Is it better to go through a travel agency or can you arrange it yourself for cheaper? Also do you need to have the visa extension before it expires or just apply for it? Finally, is it like China where you get 30 days from when you apply for it or is it 30 days from when your current visa expires?

I am in Hue now and applying for the extension. I am getting it done through my hotel at the cost of $25. I don't know if you can get it done cheaper, but why bother with the hassle.
I don't know the rules, but it would probably make sense that you need to get the extension done before your current one expires. I should get it back on Monday, so I can let you know how it goes.

Thank's let me know how it goes. As far as getting it done cheaper I don't mind a $1 or so extra to have the hotel do it but if its like $5 that goes a long way in Vietnam. Anyone gone to the immigration police to have it done? If so what's the current price, I'm an American if that matters.
