Transit time in SGN

Cannot advise about the time required, but the airport is not large, and there is plenty of signage in English. My guess is that you have just enough time.

Saigon airport is roughly the same size with Gold Coast one, impossible to get lost.

i'm doing a similar thing i a few weeks but with a little more time than you and am just going to hope it works. so far, vietnam airlines has been great and punctual so you've probably got nothing to worry about, even though you're cutting it fine. i guess just check the cut-off time for check-in for your saigon-sydney flight. the airport is really small and very navigable.

Doubtful you'll be queing up for hours at that time of the day. The majority of flights arrive around 10:00-11:30 am, with another rush around 4:00-6:00 pm. You should be fine.

This sort of thing doesn't exist and you don't have to buy one. Missing your flight is something beyond your control and you never intend to visit the country in the first place, even for a short period of time.
