Train Tickets and Flights

Hi,
Is there a particular reason you want to book in advance? If not, wait until you're in Saigon and buy your ticket at the airport, or have your hotel help you or have the hotel suggest an agency. Do the same in Danang for the train ticket. You'll save money in both instances. Be sure you know what class ticket you're getting on the train. You don't want a "hard seat". Try to travel during the day - there's a lot to see. Unless you want to sleep on the train, then travel at night.

for the flight from HCMC to Danang, one of the options is Pacific Airlines in VN. It is an alternatives of the Vietnam Airlines and more important, comparatively cheaper. You may buy the tickets on line (all e-ticket, accept major credit cards). From HCMC to Danang I guess may be US$36 included taxes (single way per person). I just bought online two days ago for two single way tickets from HCMC to Hanoi in Mid-July for only US$67 per person(taxes included). So that I can start to plan my VN trip.

I recently posted a query, as well, regarding booking train tickets in advance, as we are coming overland from Cambodia and wanted to get on the night train to Danang on the same day. It was suggested that I go through vietnamstay.com that can book train tickets for you and can either drop the tickets at your hotel or you can pick up from their office in either Ho Chi Minh or Hanoi. I contacted them and have found them excellent with their communication. They booked and sorted everything I needed and we just have to pick up the tickets from their Ho Chi Minh office when we arrive. So far everything has gone very smoothly but we'll find out for sure when we get there, however they have great feedback when searching Thorn tree.

We booked ahead thru www.ivivu.com for our first flight - no probs the tickets were waiting at our hotel when we arrived. For 5 of us we only paid about an extra US$20 for the tix incl. delivery. Our flight the next day was full - so was very glad I'd booked ahead.
