Could someone let us know if we need a ticket out to come to Viet Nam --We are not sure where we are going after -flying to Thai or overland to laos
I know its been asked before but Im not having much luck with the search--sorry thorntree--it su__ks

Just to elaborate--we want to fly in with Air Asia,but are not sure where to go after--we might explore riding a bought motorbike to Laos--we will be there July-Aug- Its rainy season but we have had pretty good luck in Thailand in previous trips that time of year---so that leaves the question -Is it even possible to fly in and leave overland---we are Kiwi (NZ)

YES! Ticket out is only an issue if you enter under the 15 day "visa free" program and NZ citizens aren't covered by that program.
July and August are not the rainy season in central and north VN. Yes it does tend to rain in HCMC and the south at that time of year but the real wet weather, usually in the form of typhoons from The Philippines, does not start until late September. October and November are the wet months along the central coast.
