I disagree with #1. They might be more interesting than some other cities, but they are cities all the same. I wouldn't sacrifice any of the other places to have more time in either. Itinerary sounds do-able but I personally would spend more time in Hoi An. Lovely place and very relaxing.

Definately spend more time in Hoi An and skip Nha Trang. It's so relaxing in Hoi An and the beach is just as nice - and quieter. Must less expensive. Fly from Danang to HCMC.
