I got the dates wrong on my Visa and I want to go the day before my visa states... I called the Embassy in DC and they were no help...

My plane gets in at 8:00 p.m. on the 19th of October and my visa says I'll be there on the 20th...

I was hoping to buy my airfare but I don't know if they will even let me on the plane in BKK if my Visa doesn't start until the next day. Techincall I'm only showing up 4 hours early from the 29th given I get in at 8:00 p.m. on the 19th...

What do you think??? Will they let me in and should I book my airfare???

Thanks for any insight!

Danielle

Sorry there was a typo above... My Visa says Oct 20th, not the 29th... I want to enter on the 19th...

Thanks for any insight!

I doubt AirAsia will let you on the flight. If you're denied entry THEY get fined and are responsible for taking you back to BKK. Looks like the fare is the same for both dates so why not just overnight near BKK and take the morning flight to HAN.

Usually you cannot enter a country before the date of the visa, Vietnam is quite strict. Others have also missed out by a few hours and have been turned away.

If you haven't purchased your ticket yet I would recommend you buy it to fly in on the 20th.

Have a great time :)

I leave Wed to start my trip which is why I don't have time to just get another Visa... Thanks for the tip though :)

She hasn't purchased the ticket yet so the cheapest option may well be to just delay her flight by a few hours and use the visa she already has.
