It going to be in the beginning of August that's why I've heard from others Hanoi will be super rainy and no good?
Does anyone have any suggestions for best way of transport? Eg buses/ scooters for a lone traveler?
Or any recommendations for places to stay as a lone traveler?
Buses or trains in Vietnam. There are open tour buses which are cheap but I prefer the local buses or trains better experience. Plenty of guesthouses or cheap Hotels.
Re weather think central Vietnam will be ok, south of Hue anyway. Re Philippines its rainy season certainly in north around Manila, Ei Nido is a bit better but it does get a fair amount of rain, I went in December and it rained, no fun. If you want better weather I would consider Indonesia.
