Hi all,

Quick question: has anyone left Vietnam on the Chau Doc-Phnom Penh by boat crossing at Song Tien (near Vinh Xuong) using an e-visa?

More context: We have e-visas to travel to Vietnam. We are entering by plane at SGN Airport (HCMC/Saigon). From there we will travel around until we get to Chau Doc. We plan on taking the speedboat from Chau Doc to Phnom Penh, where we hope to get our exit stamp at the Song Tien border crossing (near the village of Vinh Xuong).

There is conflicting information from different travel agencies and forums about being able to do this. Some say that you cannot enter or exit Vietnam using an e-visa by boat at that crossing.

As for entering Cambodia, it seems that we can get visas on the boat with or without a passport photo.

Any personal experience would be much appreciated! Thank you!

Do not know about the vietnamese part of the question
For Cambodia you will need photo or at least forced to get one and waste time and money

Song Tien is on the list of border crossings for the evisa.

Thanks for this good suggestion. I saw that they can take a photo at the border but sounds like that's a hassle!

Thank you for this. What's annoying is that this agency called Chau Doc Travel claims its a "land port" only for those accessing by road and those with an e-visa. I got information from other travelers as well a speedboat company operating between Chau Doc - Phnom Penh that you can indeed take a boat all the way from Chau Doc to Song Tien to Phnom Penh and using an e-visa.

No problem to go through the border ! In fact, it is very easy because an employee of the boat takes everybody to the two immigration offices (Vietnam and Cambodia)
