Looking to spend approximately $65-$75 for a nice, clean, as quiet as possible room, preferably at a smaller hotel with a little bit of colonial charm. Prefer the Dong Khoi/Riverside area.
Recommendations? Do people have feedback on Huong Sen or Riverside (not Renaissance, the other one).
thanks!

I visited the Riverside and thought it was dark and depressing, to be honest. Enough so I didn't include on my online coverage of Saigon.
Colonial-wise, I thought the Majesticwas probably the best. Maybe online deals go for your price range; rack rates are $115 and up.
Either the Majestic or the Grand. Also check the Rex. Online rates in these hotels always beat walk-in rates. I've seen good comments on the Intercontinental on Dong Khoi Street -big rooms...but it's a long time ago I spent a night there.

I enjoyed the riverside Majestic, old French Colonial hotel, and in the nice area, like the Grand too, very charming.
The boardwalk at night, has the dinner cruises and street vendors, Ice Cream etc, its nice to sit and watch the people, or take a stroll in either direction for a nice evening in Saigon. The epicenter of cafes and social getting together is around the Notre dame Cathedral.
The hard part, crossing 6 lanes of motos and no stop signs...:)
