Hello everyone - I'm visiting Hanoi in a few weeks and am considering staying at the Hanoi Horison hotel. Price is about $100/night. I know that many accomodations can be found for less, but want such amenities as high speed internet access in the room, pool, restaurants, etc. I'm also a tad concerned about the security of things I may leave in the room - computers, cameras, etc. I think my stuff will be more secure in a higher end place.

So... I know this is expensive for Hanoi. Any comments about this particular hotel? Or can you recommend others that will have inroom internet and piece of mind?

thanks - danbrew

You can walk from there to the "Oh My God!" cafe, for a Tiger draft and a really good burger. Just up Giang Vo Street, past the duty-free shops, on your right. If you hit Lang Ha you've gone too far. Very nice hotel, I took a nap in one of their highly-luxurious lobby lounge chairs one unbearably hot afternoon and they were nice about it.

I'm just back from three weeks in Cambodia and Vietnam. Stayed at the Gold Spring Hotel in the Old part of Hanoi. Very clean and nice rooms with ensuite, very safe, free highspeed internet in the lobby and price negotiable to about US25 a night. Can recommend.

Horison is good, and USD 100.00 is not that much for Ha Noi anymore, rates exploded this year.
