Hi:

I am wanting to book domestic flights from HCMC to Danang, Hue to Hanoi, and Hanoi to HCMC before arriving in Vietnam. Does anyone know of any good websites to book from? The Vietnam Airlines website won't be activating their booking function until April sometime. We leave from Canada at the end of May. Our itinerary is pretty much set, so we know which days we want to fly on.

Also, any words of advice on whether Pacific Airlines is reliable or not? I read one posting about a person getting bumped off their flight.

Thanks!

I think most people here will say to wait until you arrive in Vietnam to book your flights.

For the section Hue - Hanoi you also can take a train. The fast train takes 12 hours (overnight), and you can book a soft sleeper while in Sai Gon. HCMC - Da Nang and Hanoi - HCMC, both Vietnam Airlines and Pacific Airlines fly this route at different time every day so you will have some choices.

Definitely cheaper to book when you get there.
We flew both Pacific & VN air & both were fine although Vn air (HCMC to Danang) was delayed 2 hrs

We booked ahead through Handspan, so we got Vietnamese prices but confirmed flights in advance. Or at least the prices were the same as on other websites.

Forget Pacific - have heard nothing but bad reports. Got onto a Vietnamese travel agent in Hanoi (via one in Altona, Victoria) - Blue Sky Travel. Booked from Australia via email before we left - 2 tickets HN - HCMC on Vietnam Airlines for US$96 (cheapest we could find). Went there on arrival in Hanoi - tickets waiting for us - paid in full then and there - no problems at all. Speak very good English.
