Saw a sign on the road from Phn Thiet to HCMC:
"We make farming dream get enrichment world"
Been trying to figure out ever since what they are trying to say:-)))
My guess is that there is a faulty Engrish translation that caused "word" to be read as "world".
I recall the English on a bottle of AQuaSing water to read: "AQuaSing is a certain kind of drinking water manufactured through a new industrialized process. AQuaSing has an effect on relieving a long-time fatigue word." Still, I have no idea what the "enrichment word" might be. On a related note, I have no idea what the "long-time fatigue word" might be, either.

How old was the sign? If it was 30 or more years old one might surmise it to be
some type of agrarian homily quoted from Chairman Mao's Little Red Book. I
would guess the idea started out something like "We are building the world of
our dreams through agriculture." (farming) A state recognization of the importance
of labor in society. A form of the encouragement from the old boys up topside.

My best guesses are:
- We are farming in the hope of enriching the world (or making the world a better place).
- We hope to improve the world with agriculture.
- We hope to improve the world of agriculture.
- We hope to make the world richer through agriculture.
- We hope farming will make the world richer.
The lesser guesses:
- We dream of being the richest in the world through agriculture.
- In order to get rich quick in this world our goal is to keep farming.
- We make the world richer by farming in our dreams.
- We dream of making lots of money from farming to travel around the world.
- We hope to make the world see that the only way to be rich is by farming.
- Hey, people, we dare to dream of getting rich by farming, if you don't understand this sign, screw you all!

The following just happened ten minutes ago, and funnily not while travelling in Asia, but working in my homecity:
...beautyful, sexy-dressed Thai lady walking into my shop in central Amsterdam, together with her rich and snobby looking Thai boyfriend/husband:
"Question for you: Where can I find a pimp? I really need pimp for my face!"
...after a moment of shocked amuzement (remember, the most infamous red-light-district of the world only is a couple of blocks away) and some sign-language, I realized, she was asking for directions to a cosmetic studio to "pimp up her face".....
...what too much MTV can do to you....
