I'll be arriving in Vietnam from Cambodia at Chau Doc and eventually moving on towards Can Tho. Are there any cargo boats in this direction to any destinations that would get me closer to Can Tho? Has anyone done it? Would it even interesting or scenic? Also wondering what the ATM situation is like in the Delta? Are there any convenient ones near the boarder/Chau Doc? Or should I plan on using cash until I get to Saigon.

We once mentioned in FAQ Vietnam about the fast boat between PP and Can Tho but that was suspended. Find post #90 in FAQ Vietnam if you need info about the boat trip between PP and SG via Chau Doc.

There is an ATM in Chau Doc, at the Vietcombank branch. However, it is not accessible around the clock, I think only from 07:00 - 20:00.
