Hi,

I’m just wondering what the best way is to visit Bach Ma national park and Phong Nah (caves). There are four of us and we’re heading to Hue today. Is it easy to go to these places by yourself from Hue or should we book a tour? Also would we need to come back to Hue after Bach Ma or would it be possible to combine the two places? We’re happy to stay overnight if there are accommodation options. Any advice would be great.

Thanks!

Um, so you're heading to Hue. Bach Ma is SOUTH of Hue, Phong Nha is north.

Accommodation in both places.

I'd a done Danang - road - Bach Ma - stay - road - Hue - stay - train - Dong Hoi - road - Phong Nha - stay a few days.

You don't need a tour for any of this. Just transport and accommodation.

Phong Nha is west of DONG HOI, which is 180 km north of Hue + 50 km for the Park = at least 460 km RT and a big MINIMUM of 3 days, 4 preferable to see the 3 grottoes. My suggestion IF you go after from Hue to the north (Ninh Binh or Hanoi) is to stop in PN on the way north
