My bank will reimburse me for any ATM fees if they can see what they are, so I need to know if I can get an ATM receipt in English. Am I right in assuming that the ATM directions will be in English? I assume English will be one of the options.

If you insert a foreign card in an ATM it will ask you which language you want to use, it is common to have several choices and English will always be one of the choices, as for the receipt it depends on how bright the software developer was, I have seen receipts sometimes come in the local language even when the directions have been in English but the numbers on the receipt are always going to be understandable even in countries that use different systems.

ANZ bank receipts are in English and show the fees you paid. HSBC receipts are also in English but don't show the fees that you paid.

Not sure why your bank would need to see the receipts. The fees are clearly shown on your bank statements, surely they can use those?
Interested to know which bank you are with, I've not heard of any that refund fees like this!

Charles Schwab's checking account reimburses for ATM fees. I've never had to submit receipts with the fees on them - they just go off of info transmitted by the ATM.

My bank also refunds the ATM fees. Even when the ATM receipt did not show the fees, somehow the bank was able to calculate the fee and refund it as shown on my statement. I assume it is delineated on the computer transaction between the bank where I've used the ATM and my bank.
